Marilyn Chambers comes from Providence, Rhode Island where she was named Marilyn Ann Briggs at birth. She turned 58 this year, 22 days into fourth month. Her colorful career goes from an adult actress, to mainstream acting, exotic dancing and competing for the vice-presidential chair. Her first involvement in the public eye was when she wanted to be a model, much to her parents’ dismay.

She travelled from one side of the country to another to find more work and modeled, appeared in the ads and stripped until she got a role in her first adult movie, Behind the Green Door when she was only 20. She did get forgetful parts in independent and small movies before, including The Owl and The Pussycat, but this didn’t bring much continuing luck until a porn movie opened the door further for her.

She appeared in BTGD(interracial hardcore scene), Rabid and Insatiable (for two years at the beginning of the ninth decade of the last century, this movie was the best money maker and extremely popular) Thinking that she’s done enough with that kind of acting, she tried mainstream roles, but wasn’t successful. A sequel to Insatiable, got her XRCO Award in mid eighties in the Best Kinky Scene category.

After not having luck with regular roles, she continued on with her adult movie work and appeared in independently made movies, which marked the end of her career. First decade of the new century saw Marilyn Chambers try twice for vice president but didn’t get elected. For her career and exceptional abilities, hot blonde received FOXE Award for Lifetime Achievement (’05) and XBIZ Award in the same category three years later.

Also inducted her in their Hall of Fame. Sadly, she died a year ago, discovered by her only child. Pre-existing medical issues contributed to her passing away in her own residence.
